Kiln Opening July 1 2017

These pieces will go to the Torpedo Factory – for the July Show at Scope Gallery. The Stripey Platter is a new and fun look. I have added the Perky Songster to my flock of Rooster, Heron and Owl. The mouse does not get eaten, by the way, nor does the frog. The mouse is hiding on the back side of the mug. Shhhh.

  This worked much better. As you will see in the video, the mixture burns on because I have taken it out of the bucket. Then, I think the trick is to put the pot into the flour mixture and then get it into the cooling water bath more quickly- that is if the goal is to get varied color....

I decided that the problem the first time was that the mixture was not thick enough and that I had not stirred it recently enough. So I added flour and tried again. The results were better.   I think the thing to do is to dunk the pot quickly and take it out so the special mixture will really burn on. Stay tuned for try #3! Photo and Video kindness of...
